South Gate Optometry

Anna M. Pennino, O.D.

Dr. Anna Pennino received her undergraduate degree at California State University at Fullerton. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from New England College of Optometry. Dr. Pennino participated in the largest off-site clinical research study evaluating the ocular side of effects of Mevacor, a cholesterol lowering medication. She received her Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPA) certification in the state of Texas in 1991 and in California in 1998.

Jack P. Melmed, O.D.

Dr. Melmed earned his Doctor of Optometry from the Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1962. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army where he worked as an optometrist at Fort Mac Arthur and West Point. Dr. Melmed received his license to utilize pharmaceuticals agents in the state of California.

David B. Golden, O.D.

Dr. David Golden graduated with honors from Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) in 1987. Prior to receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree, he attended the University of California at Berkeley. He is licensed to diagnose and treat diseases of the eye in addition to performing various medical procedures. He is a founding partner of the Aris Vision Institute, a provider of refractive surgery with centers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Japan.

Felicia Chen, O.D.

Dr. Felicia Chen graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. She received her Doctor of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2004. Since then, she has served as a faculty member at the University of Southern California where she participated in the Multi-Ethnic Pediatric Eye Disease Study, a clinical research study funded by the National Eye Institute to evaluate the ocular conditions in children 6 months to 6 years of age. She has also served as a certified teaching assistant to fourth year optometric students at the Optometric Center of Los Angeles. Dr. Chen is currently board certified to diagnose and treat eye diseases in California.
